FAQ
Common questions, honest answers
Everything families ask before getting started — answered clearly.
How does the service actually work?
We provide you with a genuine UK 01/02 landline number that forwards calls to your mobile. Your loved one calls that number from the prison at the cheaper landline rate, and the call comes straight through to your phone. No apps, no extra devices, nothing to install.
Will the prison accept the number?
Yes. Our numbers are genuine Ofcom-regulated 01/02 UK landlines — identical to a home phone number. Prison telecom systems treat them the same as any other landline and they are fully compliant with HMPPS requirements. If you have any issue with approval, contact us and we'll help you directly.
How quickly will I receive my number?
Your number is assigned the same day you sign up — usually within a few hours. You'll receive it by email and can submit it to the prison straight away.
How long does prison approval take?
Your loved one submits the number through the standard approved call list process — the same way they register any number. Approval typically takes a few days to two weeks depending on the prison. Once approved, they can call immediately.
Who pays for the calls — me or my loved one?
Your loved one pays from their prison phone credit, exactly as they would for any call. You pay the £14.99 monthly subscription. There are no per-minute charges on your end. The saving comes from your loved one being charged at the cheaper landline rate (around 8p/min) instead of the mobile rate (around 18p/min).
Are there any setup fees or hidden charges?
No setup fees, no activation fees, no hidden charges. The only cost is £14.99 per month. What you see is what you pay.
How do I cancel?
Log into your customer portal and cancel from the billing section anytime. No notice period — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing month and you won't be charged again after that.
